Ensera Design expands electrical and software engineering capabilities through enhanced Colorado facility

Frederick office building

Frederick, Colorado – July 22, 2026 – Ensera Design has expanded and enhanced its engineering facilities in Frederick, Colorado, strengthening its North American electrical, hardware, and software engineering capabilities to support the growing demand for connected and digitally enabled medical device innovation.

A purpose-built facility for advanced engineering

The newly renovated, purpose-built Colorado facility, which combines dedicated engineering laboratories, prototyping space and collaborative workspaces, reflects Ensera Design’s continued investment in advanced engineering capability globally. Established on the same site for over forty years, the new building’s increased capacity enables the Colorado studio to provide more integrated product development support for customers in North America and worldwide, alongside its sister design studios in Morristown, NJ and Bristol, UK, and Ensera’s manufacturing facilities in the US, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Spanning 12,800 square feet, the enhanced infrastructure includes:

  • Dedicated electrical, hardware, and software engineering laboratories
  • Flexible collaboration and project spaces
  • Future dedicated production and clinical development environments
  • A workshop and prototyping space for hands-on development and testing
  • A dedicated conference and training room

These adaptable environments support a broad range of innovation activities, from initial concept development through to early-stage commercialization.

Advanced tooling, equipment, and pre‑manufacturing capability

Equipped with advanced testing equipment and high-speed fiber connectivity, the Colorado team is able to support hands-on electronic and software engineering development and rapid design iteration.

With pre-manufacturing capability embedded within the site, teams can also evaluate manufacturability throughout development rather than being a late-stage consideration. This accelerates the path to production, supports smoother technology transfer, and reduces risk as products move toward commercialization.

Strengthening design‑to‑manufacture integration

As part of Ensera’s connected model, Colorado’s electronics and software specialists work closely with design and manufacturing teams across the organization to help customers navigate complex development pathways. They support programs from technology development and verification through to manufacturing readiness for connected medical devices, digitally enabled drug delivery systems, complex electromechanical products, and other regulated technologies requiring close integration of hardware, software, and manufacturing expertise.
