Q: What sets Ensera Design apart from other healthcare design consultancies?
Multidisciplinary teams aren’t unique, but doing them well is hard. It means that everyone has to understand more than just their own discipline, and that effort helps us solve tougher problems together.
We also value being consultants first. Things never go exactly to plan, so how you respond by being collaborative, spotting issues early and giving clients options makes all the difference.
Q: How does integrating with Ensera’s global development and manufacturing capabilities transform the outcomes Ensera Design is able to deliver?
Product development to manufacturing can be a challenging balance, but when teams can communicate well, you have visibility into potential issues much sooner, and you have more options to avoid or mitigate them before they arise.
When the design and manufacturing teams are really working together, you can solve those challenges earlier. The result is faster solutions and a design intent that has an impact on delivering better healthcare outcomes.
Q: What does ‘Better healthcare brought to life’ mean to you?
Any solution we come up with really is meaningless unless and until we get it into people’s hands. From the start, we’re thinking about impact, because the only way it’s felt is when people actually use the device, the therapy, the solution.
Being connected to the manufacturing capability lets you walk the solution all the way through to fruition, where real people will go on to use it and benefit from it.
Q: Which Ensera Design value resonates most with you?
For me, it’s ‘pull together’. I grew up playing team sports and really thrive in the feeling of a team win, rather than an individual performance.
The satisfaction of coming together as a team, having someone reach out for help and watching someone step in and give that help, and the result being something meaningful, that’s maybe among the most fulfilling parts of working at Ensera Design.
Overcoming setbacks as a team and having a team win, that’s one of the reasons I come to work every day.
Q: What excites you about the future of Ensera Design?
What excites me is the thoughtful yet committed approach to change. It’s not, ‘Let’s not change anything,’ but it’s also not, ‘Let’s integrate everything and lose what makes us exceptional.’
I’ve seen organizations push too far and break the magic. What gives me confidence here is that leadership recognizes what’s special about each part of the organization and wants to preserve it while we scale. That kind of intentionality is rare to find.
