The Challenge
Rapid development of a complex platform
Ensera Design were approached by Kypha to develop a Point-Of Care instrument for the quantitative detection of multiplex, fluorescence-based assays.

The Solution
Within six months, Ensera Design delivered a ‘looks like/works like’ prototype covering optics, mechanics, electronics, software, and UI, initiated the Risk Management File, and later delivered fully CE-marked laboratory instruments.

The Execution
The project encompassed full system design and development, including concept-to-implementation of the internal optical measurement system, optimized through computational ray-tracing.
Electro-mechanical subsystems, cartridge loading, and chassis were engineered. User Interface development covered mapping complex multi-cartridge workflows, creating intuitive concepts, and styling screens with assets for seamless handover.
Ground-up software development ensured alignment with UI design, system control, and test result integrity. Advanced features included simultaneous test management, over-the-air updates, and time synchronization, delivering a robust, high-performance solution.
