Transforming the user experience through an advanced touchscreen interface
The Challenge
A dated, manual system in need of a modern, intuitive approach.
The nitrous oxide and oxygen delivery market is saturated with manual systems that provide users with limited feedback and capabilities. Users needed a flexible solution that could adapt to their environment.
The Solution
MIDAS’s intuitive touch screen interface modernizes the user interaction and improves control over gas adjustments. It allows for various mounting options from wall to cart to cabinet.
The Execution
Our team defined the first touch screen UI for a nitrous oxide and oxygen flowmeter, translating the user’s unmet needs with the current manual designs into new, but familiar and intuitive features.
Through multiple user studies, our team evaluated different design directions allowing use to define the best path forward from user input. Insights like separating certain key functions to be off-screen physical buttons allowed for a blend of physical and digital interactions.
These studies culminated in a Human Factors (HF) validation study where users were observed in a simulated environment, completing tasks with working prototypes.
